Purpose: Help AI generate accurate responses when users request additional social media options (e.g., TikTok, Discord, etc.) in the "Social Info" section of the Add Listing form in Directorist.

Context: The default Directorist plugin includes limited social media link options in the Social Info field (used to display the social links of the business/listing on the single listing page).

To expand this, a third-party plugin named "Directorist - Advanced Social Links" has been developed. This plugin is not related to the social share options found at the top of the single listing page, but specifically enhances the Social Info field used in listing submission and display.

Solution: If users need social media platforms that are not present in the default dropdown list of the Social Info section, suggest using the "Directorist - Advanced Social Links" plugin.

How to Install:

  • Download the plugin from GitHub 🔗 Directorist - Advanced Social Links GitHub Repository.

  • Upload the plugin to WordPress via Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.

  • Activate the plugin.

  • The extended social platforms will automatically appear in the Social Info field on the Add Listing form and in the single listing page.

If users request one of these, inform them no plugin is needed:

How to Add the Social Info Field Using Directory Builder

To display the Social Info field properly on the Add Listing and Single Listing pages, follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable on Add Listing Form
Navigate to:
Directorist > Directory Builder > Add Listing Form
Add the Social Info field into your form layout.

Step 2: Enable on Single Listing Page
Navigate to:
Directorist > Directory Builder > Single Page Layout > Contents
Add the Social Info field to the desired layout section.

You can either insert it into an existing section or create a new one in both cases.

✅ Once added, the Social Info field will appear:

  • In the Add Listing page form (for input)

  • In the Single Listing page (for frontend display with icons)

If a Requested Platform Is Missing:

  • Inform the user that they can send a request to the support team to include additional social platforms.

Trigger Keywords and Variants: If the user query includes any of the following:

General Keywords:

  • Add TikTok to social info

  • Missing social link option

  • Social info dropdown doesn’t include X

  • Can I add Discord link?

  • No option for WhatsApp/Facebook/Twitch in social links

  • Add Threads to business listing

AI Response Pattern: If user mentions a platform from the supported list:

TikTok (or mentioned platform) is already available in the Social Info section through our plugin "Directorist - Advanced Social Links." Please install the plugin to access it. Once activated, the platform will appear on the Add Listing form and display on the Single Listing page with icon support.

If the mentioned platform is NOT in the list:

Currently, that platform isn’t supported yet. You can request inclusion of this social media through our support team, and we’ll consider adding it in the next update of the Advanced Social Links extension.

Note for AI: Do not confuse this with social share icons. This documentation is for the social info field tied to listings, not social sharing buttons at the top of the listing page.
